Director, Maney Publishing
UNDERSTANDING E-JOURNAL TECHNOLOGY
Our next course will be held in London on 15th February in London. The
course is designed to help publishers understand and overcome common
problems encountered with authentication and access control and will explain
how these impact library licences. It will describe the ways in which
librarians are trying to help researchers find content and how publishers
should react to these initiatives. Topics include OpenURL, web-scale
discovery, DOIs, authentication systems, including Athens and Shibboleth,
article linking and much more.
Is recommended that managers and staff in all departments- product
development ,editorial, sales, marketing, and customer service -seeking an
improved business-level understanding of e-journal technologies should
attend. Delegates will benefit from being able to hold more informed and
effective discussions with clients and colleagues and will be able to solve
common technology challenges more quickly and effectively.
