The University of Nottingham's Horizon Digital Economy Research Institute
has a vacancy for a Research Associate/Fellow in Geospatial Science with
expertise in one or more of the following areas: geospatial data collection,
storage, modelling and processing; close-range photogrammetry; machine
vision. The successful candidate will work closely with the Universityıs
Centre for Geospatial Science initially on a topic of 3D building interior
modelling. They must be keen to bring their research skills and experience
into the interdisciplinary team addressing the overall socio-technical
challenges of the future Digital Economy.
Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant research topic (e.g. geospatial
or machine vision) or an MSc in a relevant subject plus significant GIS
and/or vision research experience within academia, industry or Government.
Good computing skills are essential. An interest in mobile systems and
location-aware pervasive computing are desirable.
This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of three
years. The closing date for applications is Thursday, 20th January 2011.
