Thanks for posting this. It does make interesting reading. Sadly, it is also accurate. Many people will know that we have been trying for a number of years to improve accommodation at Wakefield (and Leeds!). While I hesitate to be too optimistic, it does feel as if we may be closer to a solution than we have been. At yesterday's meeting a full feasibility report was requested for February which is a positive step.
May I reassure list members that we are very active in our monitoring of conditions and, in spite of the decaying building, I am confident that we are protecting collections to the best of our ability.
We are also working closely with TNA on this issue.
