Subject: Manuscript travel journals or letters
I have just started a distance PhD at Exeter University supervised by Professor Jeremy Black. I am researching British women who were travelling on the Continent between 1700 and 1850. This was before railways and tunnels through the mountains, and before many women published travel accounts.
I am experiencing some difficulty in locating manuscript travel journals diaries or letters which describe their travels, so I am asking if any archivists know of such documents in their collections. Dr Christine Faunch at Exeter University, recommended that this would be an effective way of reaching you.
If you can help me could you reply to my Email:-
