NATIONAL PERINATAL EPIDEMIOLOGY UNIT

Applications are invited for the full time post (job share/part-time/flexible considered) of Statistician/researcher. This new post is funded by a consortium of externally funded projects/grants for two years and is based in the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit at the University of Oxford.
This is an exciting opportunity for a statistician with experience of data analysis to develop their analytical skills and epidemiological expertise within a variety of important studies. You will be responsible for developing the analysis plans and for undertaking all the data analysis for agreed projects within the UK Obstetric Surveillance System (UKOSS) and the UK Maternal Near-miss Surveillance Programme (UKNeS) and other projects. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team with expertise in epidemiology, statistics, obstetrics and public health. You will develop new project proposals as required and hence gain experience of literature review, collaboration with clinicians, data collection methodology and research management. You may be asked to present study results at internal or external meetings. You will help prepare reports and write articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals. The post is based in the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU), University of Oxford.
We are looking for someone with a postgraduate degree in statistics or equivalent experience along with practical experience of data analysis and research and managing large and complex datasets.
