STATISTICAL PROGRAMMER
(SALARY: £35K - £45K)
(BASED IN: MIDLANDS)
A genuinely exciting position within clinical research is now available with one of the world leaders in early and late-stage drug development. My client is looking for an Statistical Programmer to assist the Director of Biostatistics or assigned study statistician with the programming required for the statistical analysis and reporting of clinical trials.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks may include but are not limited to:
*To perform programming, validation and production of regular data summaries for ongoing trials.
*To produce ad hoc data summaries when requested during the course of a trial.
*To liaise with internal departments, sponsors and other third parties regarding reporting requirements.
*To extract information from the system during the course of a trial e.g. summaries, data listings, study data sets.
*To perform programming and validation of derived datasets, including those required for external transfer.
*To perform programming, validation and production of tables, listings and figures for statistical reports.
*To assist with the formatting of report documents and tabulations.
*To become familiar with developments in statistical software used in-house.
*To assist in the maintenance of documentation e.g. the description of programs and validation.
*To assist with Quality Assurance and Audit requirements.
*To assist the Director of Biostatistics with all other aspects of the job as required.
*Perform other duties as assigned. The duties and responsibilities listed above are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
*The job holder must be computer literate and numerate with a willingness to adapt to various computer systems.
*It is essential that the job holder works with close attention to detail and is questioning about the validity of all output produced.
*The job holder must have good communication and time management skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
*Educated to degree level.
*At least one year of experience of SAS programming, with a background in and/or understanding of the specific requirements of clinical research.
*CDISC knowledge/experience would be a desirable quality.
*Promotion to the next level is not automatic based on years of experience. Personnel are evaluated on proven competency, level of responsibility, and ability to work independently.
