I saw the premiere at the Tribeca Film festival, and I didn't leave
because I had paid the ticket, and had queued to get in. You're right. It is
terrible, but its incorporation of edulcorated Italianate settings is worth
studying in relation to similar incorporations in Anglophone Shakespearean
"heritage films" such as Branagh's Much Ado or Hoffman's MND. I'm surprised
Vanessa Redgrave accepted to be in it.

Subject: Letters to Juliet?
Did anyone watch Letters to Juliet? I finally netflixed the blu-ray but
couldn't watch past the first 15 minutes, all of which were totally
insufferable (for me). I'd be to curious to hear from anyone who made it
all the way thought what you thought of it.
