The television broadcast was from a live recording of the staging
transmitted on 3sat 3/5/2008. I believe that ZDF (the German broadacsting
company) do make DVDs available at cost. For a DVD try:

address: HA ABD Programmverwertung und-ubernahme, ZDF Strasse 1, Mainz,

The World Shakespeare Bibliography may lead you to articles and reviews of
the production. As I say there are more details on
www.bufvc.ac.uk/shakespeare.

Wow, sounds incredibly fascinating. Thanks, Olwen. Wish I could have seen
it. Is there a DVD by chance?

It may be of peripheral interest but in the Munchner Kammerspiel's 2008
staging of The Tempest (Der Sturm) directed by Stefan Pucher and Peter
Schonhofer the stage consists of enormous pages from a book that Pucher
turns as if he were leafing through Shakespeare’s play, but one that has
been transformed into a colourful pop-up volume . See the International
Database of Shakespeare on Film, Television and Radio for full details and
availability.

Hi all,
Does anyone know of any film adaptation(s) of Hamlet in which he uses
writing tables (after he "meets" the ghost of Old Hamlet)? And does anyone
know of any film adaptation(s) of The Tempest (other than Prospero's Books)
in which we see Prospero's books (in the boat with Gonzalo and Miranda, the
library in Milan, and / or the library on the island) or see Prospero
holding a book ?
Thanks much.
Best,
Richard
