Dear all,
For those who haven't seen this, I suggest everyone at least reads the Executive Summary - probably the best précis of the issues we face as records management professionals due to misunderstandings with our ICT colleagues I've read for a long time.

RE: ICT ATTITUDES TO RECORDS AND RECORDKEEPING: SURVEY REPORT
State Records conducted an online survey of ICT professionals in late July and August 2010. The intention of the survey was to gather information from these practitioners to understand the problems they face in relation to managing digital information, their attitudes to recordkeeping and records management and what they perceive as areas of commonality and barriers to effective cooperation.
The results of this survey have been compiled and analysed and the Survey Report and an Executive Summary are now available on our website at: http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/recordkeeping/topics/records-management/ict-attitudes-to-records-and-recordkeeping-survey-report/ict-attitudes-to-records-and-recordkeeping-survey-report
Part 4 of the Survey Report contains feedback forms to allow you to comment on some ideas for future projects and initiatives that can be undertaken by State Records NSW to foster better working relationships between recordkeeping and ICT professionals. We would encourage you and the ICT professionals in your organisations to read the report and take the opportunity to let us know what you think of our proposed projects and initiatives and what you see as the priorities.
Yours sincerely
