Hi Rachel and all,
We are overdue putting together this list of festival dates online for the UK Science Festivals network - thanks to Wellcome for at least grouping some of us on to a webpage so dates can be checked out: http://www.wellcome.ac.uk/Education-resources/Communicating-your-research/Public-engagement-opportunities/Festivals/index.htm
I thought some time ago that Psci-com might have had an Events part of its gateway website which could be updated by members but I might be wrong. A place for the science communication community to upload events which could be marketed to the public, and to media, would be a good idea. I'd be happy to help, although there are many, many people whose web skills are better than mine :)

Subject: [PSCI-COM] Dates in 2011 for conferences / festivals / events
Dear All
List members are a diverse and talented range of individuals committed to public engagement in science and I would like to enquire whether anyone has pooled the resources of this network to produce a comprehensive list of key dates in 2011.
I think such a resource would be invaluable as there are so many different conferences, festivals and events that happen each year many of which are advertised here but many that are not (twitter often yields many other types of related events).
It would be incredibly useful to have a relatively comprehensive "Calendar of events" for 2011 which could be amended and updated by list members. For many such as myself being aware of dates further in advance than normal would ensure people avoid double booking themselves for something they really want to attend. Also people could post events that other list members might not have been aware of if they weren't discussed on Psci-Com.
I would love to hear list members opinions about this suggestion and whether someone would be able to take on this task.
Many thanks
Rachel
