Apologies for cross-posting.
Dear colleague,
We would like to invite you to the next King’s Interdisciplinary
Discussion Society (KIDS) workshop entitled ‘Is there more to mental
well-being than the absence of mental ill-health? An interdisciplinary
inquiry’.
PLEASE NOTE: We have already had to move to a bigger venue because of initial interest. If you would like to attend, please rspv at [log in to unmask] as numbers are limited.
This workshop will focus on psychiatry and the relationship
between mental health and well-being and will be presented by:
• Prof David Armstrong (Professor of Medicine and Sociology, KCL)
• Prof Derek Bolton (Professor of Philosophy and Psychopathology,
Institute of Psychiatry)
• Dr Paquita Zulueta (GP and Senior Lecturer at the School of Public
Health, Imperial)
The workshop will take place on Wednesday 8th of December 2010
(starting at 17.00 at classroom F-2.23 in the Strand building) and the event
will be followed by a wine reception.
KIDS was established to explore contested issues in health from across
various disciplinary boundaries, bringing together clinical and
biomedical perspectives with the philosophical, sociological and
psychological discourses of the medical humanities. More details about
KIDS and this particular event at:http://www.kcl.ac.uk/research/groups/khsc/events/kids.html
If you would like to attend, please rspv at [log in to unmask]
All welcome!
