World Education Group, an international education services firm based in the US, is in the final stages of approval for a contract to manage library collections development at the new King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture in Saudi Arabia. We are hiring experienced public library collections specialists for this temporary, part-time project.
The Center opens in December 2012. If we are approved, during 2011 we will be overseeing the collection of 150,000 volumes (60% Arabic, 40% English - so we need specialists in each language). WEgroup will be managing the title selection team; our job is to find top experts in the field who can come up with a list of 150,000 titles, and a local partner in Saudi Arabia will be responsible for acquisition.
We need to build a team quickly, so we will be reviewing the CVs of prospective candidates this week. Final selections would be made and contracts signed in Dec/Jan, if we are approved to manage the project. Interested candidates with demonstrated collections development experience are welcome to forward their CVs to me at [log in to unmask]
