Lambeth Palace Library is currently seeking to recruit a Deputy Librarian.
Lambeth Palace Library, founded in 1610, is the historic library and record office of the Archbishop of Canterbury. It is the principal repository for archives of the Archbishop and associated officials or institutions. It is freely open for public use, serving as a research centre specialising in ecclesiastical history but with far wider-ranging archive, manuscript and printed collections.
The Deputy Librarian will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the Library and its outstanding historical collections of printed books; managing staff and reading room services and taking responsibility for the care, maintenance and development of the collection. The Deputy Librarian will also work to promote understanding of the Library’s collections by developing outreach and improving access.
