Maney Publishing is delighted to announce a new publishing partnership
with the National Society for Histotechnology (NSH) to publish 'Journal
of Histotechnology' from 2011.
The Journal's Editor-in-Chief, Karen Burg, is Hunter Endowed Chair and
Director of the Institute for Biological Interfaces of Engineering at
Clemson University, USA. Professor Burg commented: "We look forward to
working with Maney Publishing to provide cutting-edge information for
the Journal's global readership. Maney's track record in academic
publishing, coupled with more than three decades of commitment of the
NSH to the Journal, provides the perfect backdrop for technical and
editorial innovation."
Carrie Diamond, the Executive Director of the NSH, is confident that
this partnership will ensure the continued success of the Journal: "The
synergy between Maney Publishing and the NSH will enhance the quality
content and research of the 'Journal of Histotechnology'. The
opportunities for authors and readers provide an energizing environment
of collaboration and community."
Kimberly Martin, Executive Publisher at Maney, welcomes the Journal to
Maney: "We are looking forward to working with the NSH to integrate the
Journal into Maney's health sciences list, and promote it around the

Histology is a structural science concerned with the demonstration of
cellular morphology, chemical composition and function of normal and
abnormal tissue. Many dyes and chemicals are used in histology and it is
necessary to know their composition and how they act and react with each
other. The end result yields a tissue section exhibiting distinct
colours, making it possible to distinguish tissue structures and
pathologies through microscopic examination.
The 'Journal of Histotechnology' publishes original articles dealing
with vertebrate histology or cytology, histochemistry,
immunohistochemistry, marine histology, nuclear histology, veterinary
histology, fluorescence and electron microscopy, molecular biology, and
case studies describing the use of stains in the analysis of disease in
human or animal tissue.
