__________
Seminar 4: Feminism and Ecological Futures, 11.00-4.30pm, Friday 3
December 2010, Hepple Room, School of Geographical Sciences, University of
Bristol
Speakers include: Farhana Sultana (Syracuse), Deborah Dixon
(Aberystwyth), Sarah Whatmore (Oxford) and Niamh Moore, (Manchester)
This seminar asks how global-scale ecological processes and events call new
conceptualisations of risk, uncertainty, and anticipation into being. How
do alternative historical and geographical frameworks contribute to
developing more critical approaches to contemporary environmental crises
such as climate change, natural resource depletion, and the relationship
between the human and the non-human world?
Attendance at this event is free but prior registration is required to help
with catering arrangements. To register for the seminar, please contact
Gemma Simpson ([log in to unmask]) as soon as possible, and by
FRIDAY 26th NOVERMBER 2010 at the latest.
Funds are available to support the travel costs of postgraduates,
postdoctoral fellows, early career researchers and unwaged participants at
the seminars. In order to apply for these funds, please send your name,
position, contact details and a statement of your research interests and
why you wish to attend the seminar (50 words maximum) to Gemma Simpson at
the above email address by MONDAY 22th NOVERMBER 2010.
The seminar programme and paper abstracts are available at:
