Dear all,
Jong Chul Kim, a Korean lawyer is in need of assistance in representing
a Liberian client, suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) from
gang rape. His firm is:김종철 올림,Jong Chul Kim, Law Firm, Somyong,
02-593-0525,010-3176-9529
He has found a Korean psychologist who speaks English (as does the
client) who will provide services pro bono to document the psychological
effects of the client's rape.
She unusually requests copies in English of the Minnesota Multiphasic
Personality Inventory (MMPI), the Beck Depression Inventory ( BDI) and
Sentence Completion Test SCT). She notes that these tests are
prohibitively expensive and Mr. Kim asks me to find a way to access them
for the psychologist.
For those preparing such 'declarations' for the court to document PTSD,
this request for these tests to 'prove' PTSD will be unusual and much
simpler 'tests' are freely available. Clearly this is the first refugee
client with which she has had experience.
Would someone qualified to do so, be so kind as to write her a set of
instructions as to how to proceed? As always, such cases are urgent.

The reason I am asking you to copy me is so that I might monitor whether
the help needed comes from this list serv and so we may find possible
persons who will act as resource persons in this 'discipline' for our
website. Legal aid advisors in the global south are often in urgent
need for help for cases with which their 'experts' lack familiarity.
