Dear list members ...please help -
where have I read
a) that 'disability' as a word is also a political term in it's own right -
rather than a term to be argued using medical/social model, or personal
tragedy etc??
b) that 'disabled' is the correct term to use in writing when referring to
the issue, as person who is physically/mentally etc disabled, is by default
'disabled' by society - so that anyone with impairment(s) is disabled - .
I've been searching all my old reading from 5 - 10 years ago to find where
I read these things, but so far unsuccessful - duh!
thanks everyone,
Jenny
