PROQUEST RESEARCH AWARD

The ProQuest Research Award, which replaced the Design and Applied Arts Index Travel Award, is an annual grant to encourage the professional development of UK and Ireland art librarians.
Eligibility
Current members of ARLIS/UK & Ireland of at least three years standing who are resident in the UK & Ireland are eligible to apply.
Purpose
To encourage the professional development of UK and Ireland art librarians. The purpose of the ProQuest award is to promote research and development in the fields of art, architecture and design librarianship. The work must focus on, or be based on, the use of electronic resources in the UK and Ireland and/or elsewhere. The award may be used for travel and it can be used to supplement funding from other sources.
Value: £800.00
To apply for the award, please submit the following:
1. A letter of application (no more than two A4 sides in length) stating where you learned of the award, your specific area of interest and your research proposal, proposed dissemination activities other than through ARLIS, as well as your goals for professional development.
2. A résumé listing educational background, employment history and professional activities. Please include your telephone and email address, as well as the names of two referees including addresses, telephone and fax numbers.
3. A budget outline listing anticipated costs e.g. accommodation, subsistence and travel possible conference fees, postage etc.
The decisions of the Council of ARLIS/UK & Ireland and its Grants Panel shall be final, and no correspondence regarding these shall be entered into. The Council of ARLIS/UK & Ireland reserves the right to make no award if no suitable application is received.
Each recipient will be expected to submit a report, detailing the outcome of the research, to the Council of ARLIS/UK & Ireland and to the award sponsor ProQuest.
ARLIS/UK & Ireland reserves the right to publish the report in an ARLIS publication or on the website.
