Planning and Returns Officer

The Strategic Planning and Policy Unit is responsible for the
co-ordination, implementation and monitoring of the University's
strategic plans. The unit provides analysis of student external and
financial data for reporting and planning purposes. Collating, analysing
and providing management information to key stakeholder groups including
external funding bodies and the University's governing bodies.
Additionally the unit is called upon to provide advice and analysis
relating to specific projects aligned with the University's strategic
direction.
The Post Holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery
of the University's statutory returns including; the Higher Education
Statistics Agency (HESA) student, aggregate offshore & co-funded
employer engagement returns the Higher Education Funding Council for
England (HEFCE) Higher Education Students Early Statistics Survey
(HESES) & Research Activity Survey (RAS) returns and the Training
Development Agency (TDA) professional development return. The post
holder will provide management information to the University's
directorate in order to support the planning process including provision
of key performance indicator data, income and expenditure analysis and
student number scenario planning and forecasting models. The post
holder will be required to work flexibly to meet the demands of the role
with a peak of activity occurring between October and December.
