Dear Friends
There is some research on connections between Near East & South Asia -
the good first starting point would be astrology - Hindu Astrology is
essentially the classical Greek system -
which is itself a synthesis of other local cultures including Egyptian,
Mesopotamia etc
Hindu astrology also received an earlier infusion of Babylonian ideas
(see Pingree)
i've got a research project on the back boiler called "Isis In India" -
and you can read the
first chapter on scribd which has a summary of the academic research-
(ie based around the remains of a Roman temple in Kerala)

As a practitioner my current magical work concerns connections between
Egyptian folk magick of classical period and
early "Tantrik" ie Kaula folk magick and witchcraft (AbhicAra) -
I've also an interest in divination and reproduce a dice oracle in my
book "Tantra Sadhana" but in fact use a
greco-egyptian version which has points of contact -
Of my books I think "Supernatural Assault in Ancient Egypt" is the one
that has most potential for
common ground between Near East & South Asian. And this work is ongoing
in my magical network which includes
Companions of Set & AMOOKOS (Ancient & Magical Order of the Knights of
Shamballa).

would love to keep in touch with your researches -
especially if you can help advance the work of "Isis in India" ?
"Love and do what you will"

PS: I know less about QBL but remember that even G Scholem remarks on
the possible Hindu elements in some texts -
ie based around three gunas, four ages etc
