There's a tutorial here that discusses integration in angular analysis:
http://www.vr.ucl.ac.uk/depthmap/tutorials/advanceddepthmap.pdf
As explained in the tutorial, the preferred measure is currently Hillier's proposal of:
Integ = (NC * NC) / TD
(NC = node count, TD = total depth) (sometimes written Integ = MD / TD where MD is mean depth)
The tutorial explains why this appears to be a good formula that reproduces the low and high radius features of integration defined in Social Logic of Space.
What it does not explain well are some technicalities and reasoning for why a different measure is so necessary (e.g., d-value is only defined for integer depths and angular/metric depths are not integer).
