This conference, hosted by the MA Visual Arts at Bradford School of
Arts and Media, is concerned with visual representation in all its
forms. Abstracts are invited from academics, visual artists,
photographers and film makers to contribute to this vibrant and
exciting opportunity for discursive discussion. Any subject or topic
can be addressed although an understanding of the politics and social
responsibility of representation is assumed.
The conference will conclude with an interview with film maker Jez
Lewis, director of ‘Shed Your Tears and Walk Away’, before a screening
of the film at the National Media Museum, Bradford.
The deadline for abstracts is 14th January 2011,

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
