Registration is now open for the launch of the AddressingHistory tool and API.
The half-day event will be held at the National Library of Scotland Board Room,
George IV Bridge, Edinburgh on the afternoon of Wednesday 17th November 2010.
The JISC-funded AddressingHistory project has developed an online 'crowdsourcing' tool that combines historic Scottish Post Office Directories with contemporaneous maps. As well as enabling browsing of these resources for local historians, genealogists and researchers, AddressingHistory allows you to add georeferences to addresses and submit small corrections and additions to the scanned text. The project is led by EDINA working in partnership with the National Library of Scotland (NLS).
Join us for our official launch where we will be celebrating local Scottish history with a range of speakers and opportunities to network with others interested in the family, local, and Scottish history.
Registration is free via the Eventbrite link below which
contains the programme for the day:

We look forward to seeing you
Best Wishes
