Hi All,
Did anyone notice that in the May issue of the British Journal of
Psychology (it takes a long time to reach here) every book review was
written by someone from the University of Saskatchewan? (Where the
book reviews editor is also from).
Book reviews (and software reviews) is one way for a PhD student to
get an early publication - and it's a big confidence booster for
someone (or, if you're into it, software reviews). As a PhD student,
you know as much as many people about a subject, and are likely to be
a good choice for a reviewer. Perhaps someone from PsyPAG should look
into this, or perhaps more students should put themselves forward as
potential reviewers. (You often get a free book too.)
