I said that there are far more illustrious people than me here.
I refer you to Roland Jackson's detailed response.
You may think it offers a tautological definition of technology. I don't. In
any case, that does not deal with engineering.
Engineers use and create technologies. That does not make them the same
thing.
As to those who conflate IT and T, I could not agree more. It is one of the
many things I moan about when it comes to the media treatment of engineering
and technology.
