The Women and Geography Study Group invites proposals for sessions at the RGS-IBG Annual International Conference, London, 31st August – 3rd September 2011.
Conference theme: The Geographical Imagination.
We encourage session applications on themes that explore the gendered dimensions of 'The Geographical Imagination', and other themes that relate to gender and geography. Sessions can take a variety of forms including presented papers, panels, practitioner forums, discussions and workshops. Innovative sessions and formats will be especially supported.
Sessions are 1 hour 40 minutes long. Popular session formats include, for example, five 20-minute presentations (which includes time for questions), four 20-minute presentations with discussion and questions at the end, or up to eight 5-10 minute short interactive papers with a plenary discussion. All sessions will be reviewed and approved by the Conference Planning Committee.
We are keen to encourage postgraduates to submit session proposals and to foster links with other research groups through co-sponsoring sessions.
