Dar All,
I think perhaps Craig should take on the banks. A piece today
reported in one of the ""capitalist papers" refers to an article in
Angelaki, "the journal of the theoretical humanities" entitled: Blood
on the Trading Floor,Waste,Sacrifice and Death in Financial Crises.
The author Dr.Paul Crosthwaite of Cardiff University, an
anthropologist, found evidence of an element of masochistic
satisfaction in running up losses, (though the evidence is not quoted
in this short article), and likens this to the potlach, and the
destruction of one's own possessions as an expression of power and
importance.
This is something ordinary people would probably love to do, but
can't, yet. We need a trail blazer.
The author suggests that his research supports the case for tighter
City regulation. The banks are another example of overblown
organisations. Other targets are too easy.
