Hi Craig,
I agree this book seems to be peddling the usual problematic form of psy and to be constructed within a frame of reference most community psych and especially critical psych people would ( I hope) find unpalatable.
I also agree it is unfortunate when the list is used for commercial purposes to advertise commodities for sale with no relevance to list members as list members
I also agree that it is irritating to receive what is effectively spam on this list
This list is 'open' so anyone can join it and post what they choose to post. Surprisingly infrequently this results in exploitation of the list. So far we have lived with that.

I'm not sure how the list received this but it sounds neither community oriented or remotely critical. For example, anyone out there know what a personality is let alone a supra-normal personality.

This interdisciplinary book concerns personality, especially intimacy, principally love, and its absence in states of aloneness, primarily loneliness. The author argues that normal and preeminently supranormal personalities are chiefly constituted by intimate connections. Correspondingly, he proposes that the serious shortage of such shared inwardness is the nucleus of every type of personal abnormality.
