Dear list members:
I am new to Bugs. Before reporting my problem, I would like to thank the
developers for this wonderful software that facilitates a lot a big
variety of Bayesian analyses. I started running examples and other
simple analyses before the more complex models of my interest. I ran
from Windows 7 (Gui and Scripts) as well as from Linux clusters
(Scripts). I generated the scripts with the R package rbugs in the
beginning, but then I started to customize it.
After a while, I've started to receive error messages from Linux that I
did not have running the same analysis in Windows. After submitting a
script in Linux (sometimes) the script suddenly stops after compiling
the model without any message in the log, but reporting in the file
buffer.txt the message
"****** Sorry something went wrong in procedure Generator.Init in module
MathTT800 ******"
In the case you want a reproducible example, compile the model and load
the data of the Dogs example, then use the command modelSetRN with
different values.
After investigating it a lot, I discovered that the problem happens if
the value in modelSetRN is larger than 148 or smaller than -148. I
returned to Windows Gui and then discovered that it only accepts values
from 1 to 14. But in Windows Script mode, it does not complain when I
submit scripts created by rbugs with values greater than 148.
I would appreciate if you can clarify to me which values are valid (only
from 1 to 14 even in Windows Script?) and I would the developers to
additionally include this information in the documentation of the software.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Frederico
