The UACES student forum.
It may be of interest to you and other postgraduate BASEES members.
This one-day conference is aimed at students who are actively engaged in research. The emphasis of the conference will be placed on tackling the specific challenges which arise at varying stages of the doctoral process. This event is an opportunity to meet fellow students who are engaged in related fields of research and an ideal introduction to the UACES community.
Our keynote speaker this year will be Tom Burke, a Founding Director of E3G (Third Generation Environmentalism NGO) and a Senior Business Advisor to the Foreign Secretary’s Special Representative on Climate Change.
There will be a roundtable discussion on life after the PhD. Alex Warleigh-Lack of Brunel University, Sarah Leonard of Salford University and Michael Shackleton of the European Parliament will share their thoughts about finding employment after finishing.
There will also be panel sessions running throughout the day on:
- How to manage different stages of your PhD?
- How to plan and conduct your field-work?
- How to present at academic conferences?
- How to get published?
