Project description
-----------------------
Path Intelligence has developed a proprietary, patent-pending, new technology that is able to accurately locate mobile phones whilst indoors.
The technology can be used to measure and predict the number of visitors to shopping centres. Our technology allows shopping centre managers/owners, airport and railway station managers, exhibition centres, art galleries and museums to understand the way that their customers or passengers flow through their centre. Currently, we have an internal model that predicts the number of visitors as a whole but we have not taken the next step to predict traffic to individual shops.
We would like to establish a 6-month project to improve the current model, so it can predict the number of visitors to each shop each week. Read more: http://tinyurl.com/2verlzd
Project outline
-------------------
1) Review data sources and identifying the most important variables
2) Create a statistical model capable of predicting the numbers of shoppers to retail stores. The model should be capable of dealing with the seasonality inherent in retail data, regional factors, as well as store dependent factors such as store sales.
3) Validate the model using the existing work that will be supplied by the company that predicts the overall numbers of shoppers to a shopping centre as a whole.
Which parts of the company will the Intern become familiar with?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
-----
The intern will work closely with the CEO and the Technical Director, Sharon Biggar, while also becoming familiar with other parts of the company, such as software developing and marketing.
