Merete Jakobsen's "Shamanism: traditional and contemporary approaches to the
mastery of spirits and Healing" is a good work, and has some material

Also, James L Cox at the University of Edinburgh has done work on
shamanism - you could look at his works on phenomenology, or contact him for
suggestions.
