Grade F, £31,671 pro-rata (£15,835.50) per annum
The College wishes to recruit a Teaching Fellow to support the delivery of film practice. This post is available from 1st January 2011 to 30th June 2013.
The post will include supervision of student group film projects and individual final year dissertation films at undergraduate level. The appointee will be expected to supervise all stages of the film project from selection of initial treatments to script development, storyboarding, shooting and post-production. In addition to supervision, the appointee will also be required to devise and run camera-skills and editing workshops for students to provide the relevant training needed to make their short films. All students work exclusively on DV cameras and editing is conducted on Apple Macs using Final Cut Pro. The appointee will also be responsible for the marking of short films, logbooks and accompanying essays, and for organising screenings of students’ work at the end of each term. S/he will also convene the final year dissertation filmmaking module.
The successful applicant will possess sufficient breadth and depth of specialist knowledge in the discipline to develop teaching programmes and the provision of learning support and use a range of delivery techniques to enthuse and engage students. They will participate in and develop external networks, for example to contribute to student recruitment, secure student placements, facilitate outreach work, generate income, obtain consultancy projects, or build relationships for future activities.
