According to Jan Gross, the Norman B. Tomlinson '16 and '48 Professor of War and Society at Princeton University, scholars from Poland who are working with new archival sources pertaining to the wartime history of Polish Jews will join Western academics who have written about the subject in an interdisciplinary and interpretive manner to develop "new insights and a better understanding of the Holocaust in Eastern Europe." Gross organized the conference with Jan Grabowski, a professor of history at the University of Ottawa, whose ongoing research focuses on the extermination of the Jewish population in Poland and the Shoah.
