The University of Vienna is offering two
PhD-Universitätsassistent/in ("prae doc") positions
at the Department of Statistics and Decision Support Systems
(Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics).

The positions are meant to support young scientists through their Ph.D.
research. Employment (30 hrs/week) is based on 2-year contracts.
Duration of Employment: 01.09.2012, 30 hours/week
The successful applicants will enter the department's Ph.D. program and
are expected to work on model selection, model averaging, the design of
techniques for dealing with high-dimensional data, or similar
statistical methods.
Profile:
A Master's or comparable degree in statistics, mathematics, or a closely
related discipline (completed or pending completion); a solid background
in statistics and probability theory; and promising potential for
original research.
