Statistical analysis of longitudinal data with applications in the medical and healthcare fields
The Longitudinal Statistics Research Group (LStats)
Longitudinal research concerns the collection and analysis of data through time - a broad term and hence the methods of analysis vary substantially. Longitudinal data allow the analysis of duration and permit the measurement of patterns of change over time. The UK has a prominent role in the development of longitudinal studies, with its unique portfolio of datasets, for example, BCS70, NCDS, Millennium Cohort, the British Household Panel survey, ONS Longitudinal Study of the Census and the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA).
The LStats group within Kingston University is conducting research into the analysis of longitudinal data with applications in the medical and health-related fields, in collaboration with colleagues, both within and outside the university, from those areas.
We now have the opportunity to expand our research group with three tuition fees-only PhD scholarships. The scholarships are available for 3 years, subject to a satisfactory progress review at the end of each year.
Applications are invited from highly motivated and qualified home or EU candidates for tuition fees only full-time scholarships in research projects in the analysis of longitudinal data within the LStats collaborative group.
Details of these projects (and the contact details of the associated Directors of Studies) can be found at: cism.kingston.ac.uk/feesonlyscholarships
Candidates are strongly encouraged to discuss their application with the respective Director of Studies. In addition to the scholarship, expert supervision, desk and computing facilities will be provided. Some part-time paid employment within the Faculty may be available. You will also be eligible to apply annually to our Conference Fund for attending conferences.
