Dear Members of the STS Community,
With apologies for another iteration of this message, please see the amended calls for nominations below, which include the correct e-mail addresses for Professors Cohen and Frankel.
John
As we head toward our March 2011 conference at Penn State University, it is time once again to nominate worthy books for the Richard J. Finneran Memorial Award, and worthy articles for the Fredson Bowers Memorial Prize.
The Society for Textual Scholarship grants the Finneran Award in recognition of the best edition or book about editorial theory and/or practice published in the English language during the preceding two calendar years. The prize is presented at the biennial conference and carries a cash honorarium of $500.
We are seeking nominations for volumes published in either 2009 or 2010.
Please send your nominations on or before JANUARY 1, 2011 to the members of the Finneran Award Committee, Professors James W. L. West, III, Matt Cohen, and Russell McDonald: [log in to unmask], [log in to unmask], [log in to unmask]
The Society for Textual Scholarship awards the Fredson Bowers Memorial Prize for an outstanding essay in textual studies substantially published for the first time during the two years prior to the Society's biennial New York conference. Essays published in periodicals, critical books, and collections by diverse hands are eligible for the Bowers Prize. If part of a longer work, the significance of the essay must be independent of that context. The prize is presented at the biennial conference and carries a cash honorarium of $500.
We are seeking nominations for articles published in either 2009 or 2010.
Please send your nominations on or before JANUARY 1, 2011 to the members of the Bowers Prize Committee, Professors Meg Roland, Nicholas Frankel, and Gabrielle Dean: [log in to unmask], [log in to unmask], [log in to unmask]
Thank you for your support of STS.
