I'm not 100% sure I understand your question. Are you talking about
data in time domain or about time-frequency analysis? If it's the
former then for very short time windows it wouldn't make sense to
generate 3D scalp x time images, but rather look at 2D scalp maps
averaged over the time window. Then you can even look at a single time
frame so you are only limited by your sampling rate.
