Dear all,
I am happy to announce the final version of the VBM8 Toolbox which can be received via the update function or can be downloaded at:
http://dbm.neuro.uni-jena.de/vbm8/vbm8_r361.zip
I have made some important changes since the last beta release 351. Thus, I would strongly recommend to process your data again for all ongoing studies.
You can also download the updated VBM8 manual, written by Florian Kurth and Eileen Luders:
http://dbm.neuro.uni-jena.de/vbm8/VBM8-Manual.pdf
Some general information about VBM can be found here, but the sites are not yet updated for VBM8:

Changes since last beta release 351:
(1) Replaced Optimized Blockwise Non Local Means (ORNLM) filter by Adaptive
Non-Local Means (SANLM) filter to consider MR images with spatially
varying noise levels (thanks to Jose V. Manjon for providing the source
code). This filter does not need pre-estimation of noise and is much
less memory demanding. Furthermore, the code supports multi-processors.
(2) Removed wavelet and ornlm code, that is not necessary anymore.
(3) solved some issues with CSF segmentation for images where CSF had values very close to background
(4) Temporary files in longitudinal batch mode are now removed after the final
segmentation.
(5) Improved bias correction in Kmeans.c that leads to better segmentation
esp. of subcortical structures.
(6) Added additionally fine affine registration with brainmask to
cg_vbm8_run.m to make registration more stable.
(7) Updated VBM8 manual.
Best regards,
Christian
