Policy & Politics conference - final reminder
Dear colleagues,
A number of places have become available at the Policy & Politics
journal conference, this Friday, 10th September, at Clifton Hill House in
Bristol. The theme of the conference is 'Politics of austerity or austerity
of politics' analysing new challenges for the public sector, and we are
looking forward to an engaging debate on this crucial issue.
The day includes the following expert keynote speakers:
Neal Lawson, Chair of 'Compass' and author of All Consuming
'What else is new? From New Labour to Coalition Politics and Beyond'
Bill Jordan, University of Plymouth, author of Why the Third Way Failed
'How should the Left respond to the 'Big Society'?'
Athar Hussain, Director of the 'Asia Research Centre', London School of
Economics
'The Politics and Economics of Financial Crises'
Janet Newman, Open University, co-author of Publics, Politics and Power
'Goodbye to all that? Narratives of crisis and their consequences'
Additionally there are three morning and afternoon panels looking at
different aspects of the politics of austerity, with authors from the UK,
Spain, China, and Slovenia. To join what promises to be a stimulating
discussion, fill in the attached form and email it to Emily Thomas
([log in to unmask]). Registration is £50, reduced to £25 for
research students.
