List members may be interested to know about an outreach event
happening this weekend in Cambridge.
Open Cambridge 2010 is a weekend of tours, talks and open access in
which buildings, grounds and collections go on show for families, local
residents and community groups. Tours cover topics such as the history,
architecture, art and gardens of City, College and University
buildings.
As part of the weekend, seventeen University of Cambridge college and
departmental libraries are opening their doors to the general public to
give them a glimpse of a wide range of extraordinary buildings and
collections.
This is the third year of Open Camrbidge and the second year of the
Open Libraries strand. Open Cambridge is the first major collaborative
public access event of its kind to have been held in Cambridge, and it
is held annually to coincide with the national Heritage Open Days
scheme.
