LIBRARY & ARCHIVE ASSISTANT
Full time salary is £21,961 p.a. plus Final Salary Pension Scheme,
part-time post for 21 hours per week
The Museum of London is looking for an enthusiastic individual to assist with the provision and maintenance of our library and archive services which we provide to museum staff and public researchers. Working mainly in the Sainsbury Study Centre at Museum of London Docklands, you will help to maintain and develop a busy public enquiry and research service, answering a wide range of enquiries related to the Port and River Library and Archive. As well as responding to remote enquiries, you will also book research appointments, retrieve and replace archive material from the store, and assist the Museum's librarian to catalogue the library collections.
You must have demonstrable experience of providing research and enquiry services to the public, ideally within a library or archive environment. You should also have experience of cataloguing library or archive collections. Excellent communication skills, experience in the provision of customer service and being highly organised with good time management skills are essential. An interest in London or maritime history would be desirable.
