The Burma-China boundary treaty of 1960 stated that navigable rivers on the boundary would use the thalweg but nonnavigable rivers would use the median line of the river.
The Boundary Potocol of 1961 found that there were no navigable rivers on the boundary, so the median line would be used in all cases.
Both documents confirmed that the boundary in the watercourses would NOT shift, either via avulsion or accretion.
My understanding was that the default case in international law was that the boundary moves with acretion but not avulsion.
So how common is it to *rigidly* fix the boundary in a watercourse by treaty that defies accretion and avulsion?

As a side note, can anyone direct me to any documentation on the 1986/7 (?) resurvey(?) of the china/Burma boundary? I have found a reference to either a maintenance survey, or a possible (minor) modification, of the line of 1960-61.
If anyone aware of any other changes in the China-burma boundary since the 1961 protocol?
