Dear Abdullah,
As far as I know the BPS formal part of the Community Psychology Section Inaugural Meeting is on 8 October (not Sept) 2010 at 1.00pm at the Society’s London office so, as far as I know, it is not in 2 days time. I understand that Sally is still negotiating for access to a BPS room in the morning of 8th Oct. I have not been party to recent discussion away from this list about the Section. My view is, as before, if psychology is not to become even more of the problem rather than solution than it is now, we need a BPS Community Psychology Section influencing the BPS progressively from the inside: lobbying; persuading; cajoling; etc from a community critical psychology standpoint but my view is also that we need another body . . . let's call it a UK CP collective - which is wider in its inclusivity and more radical in its aspirations - to hold the BPS Community Psychology Section to account.

Subject: Updates?
Hi all,
The discussion list seems to have gone a bit quiet over the past week or two and I was wondering what this reflected, particularly as the 'Inaugural Meeting' will be happening in a couple of days times. Has there been some discussion in the background away from the list regarding this? I may have missed something during some earlier posts, did we as a group come to some form of general agreement on the issues that we were discussing?
Whoever can make it to the meeting on Wednesday, I wish you luck, hopefully it will be a productive meeting.
Regards
Abdullah
