Hi all
I've been asked to locate case reports of vancomycin resistant enterococci with specific regard to elective orthopaedic surgery/prosthetic joint surgery. I'm not after evidence on how to treat this but actual instances of outbreaks / where it has broken out in clusters. I'd like to start with the UK but will pursue international instances if necessary.
I understand from the enquirer that there are not likely to be many such instances, but I was wondering if anyone might be able to point me in the direction of some useful resources. I'm relatively new in post and haven't come across a search of this nature before!
I'll try the medical databases in case any reports have been written up in the literature but thought I should try some other resources as well. I've started looking at the Health Protection Agency website and will also try Googling (maybe on Google News), but if anyone can offer any alternative suggestions I would be very grateful.
Many thanks in advance,
Gwyneth Pearson.
