Well, if you mean controversial in the sense that some of the poets he
is talking about might be subscribers to this list, then yes. Come on
all you 'bright young things' - show your faces.
This is related to the problem I have when trying to talk about what I
see as the negative influence of the growing relationship between the
poetry I like and academia - the majority here are in academia. At
least half of the poets I really like have found themselves in
academia. Funny really, and awkward...... but there is nothing I could
do about it - it's not going to stop me speaking my mind.
With regard to Peter's problem though I admit it is a lot more
difficult.... How to talk about something (an individuals work)
without talking about it. It's one of the reasons discussions get
tangled into the mist.
