Certainly the sites are aimed at gamers and the communities that have been
set up for them are intended for that reason, and clearly they aren't
intended for full system voice control, but they do genuinely offer a
cheap/free voice input for use in windows, which used judiciously with
combinations of other system settings and/or free/cheap keyboard emulation
software gives you many options for effective voice control; sole or
augmented.

Looking at the videos: they appear to augment rather than replace
keyboard and mouse actions.
For example, in World of Warcraft you move your player around the game
world with the keyboard, and these systems do not appear to replace
that. But you also perform actions, like casting spells, and you can
say the name of these spells rather than having to press lots of keys
to do all these things.
So you will still have to use some kind of game control device. With
these systems you might be able to get away with a joystick plus
speech, rather than needing all the keys on your keyboard. But it's
not a complete replacement.
Best wishes,
Alasdair King
