Chickenshed Theatre Trust currently has an opportunity to volunteer with us, managing our enormous and important archive of photos, films, recordings, sheet music, news cuttings, memorabilia and merchandise from past productions and more. We are making the archive less paper-reliant, saving electronically where possible to protect our archive from deterioration.
Person Specification: We require a volunteer with fresh ideas and initiative to try out new ways of recording and preserving, capable of working in isolation, comfortable using computers, trustworthy (our valuable archive is kept locked up) and passionate about archives and records. An interest in theatre would also be an advantage. There is room to increase responsibility and the possibility of taking complete ownership of the project too. The role can be full-time or part-time, and we can fit volunteering hours around your other commitments.
About us: Chickenshed is a theatre company based in North London. We work using an inclusive creative process which means everyone is welcome, and everyone is valued. We run Children's and Youth Theatre workshops for 600 people, education courses for over 100 students, community outreach projects and a network of satellite 'Sheds' across the country. Our many volunteers are involved across the organisation and they make an enormously important contribution to Chickenshed’s work.
Our volunteer application process consists of an application form, an informal interview and a CRB check. To apply, please email [log in to unmask] to request the application form, putting “Archives Volunteering” in the subject box.
