A POSTDOCTORAL POSITION in STATISTICS/ECONOMETRICS
is announced at the Institute of Statistics, Faculty of Economics, University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland
The Institute of Statistics of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Neuchâtel expects to open a postdoctoral position starting in November 2010.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ASSESSMENT GROUNDS FOR APPOINTMENT
The applicant should
have a doctorate in Statistics or in a related field,
have a track record of publications in refereed international journals,
be interested in teaching and willing to perform to a high level in the didactic duties,
have good knowledge of both French and English.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The postdoctoral fellow will be employed on a fixed-term contract of up to 4 years and will be active in the Institute of Statistics, University of Neuchâtel for the full duration of this position.
She/he is expected to
teach an average of 4 hours a week in the bachelor and master programs. The teaching is both in French and English
conduct high-quality research leading to publication in good refereed international journals
organize the research seminar of the institute
supervise undergraduate and master theses and help supervising doctoral students within her/his research area
participate in other administrative activities in the institute (organize scientific events, etc.)
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The successful candidate will receive benefits and salary in accordance to the rules and regulations of the University of Neuchâtel (see http://www2.unine.ch/rh/page1577.html).
Rough and non-binding estimates of the salary for 100% employment go from a gross salary of around CHF (USD) 100,000 (€ 75,000)/year in the first year to roughly CHF (USD) 110,000 (€ 83,000)/year in the fourth year.
