Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position at the School of
Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Sheffield. The position is part
of a research project within the MATCH consortium (Multidisciplinary Assessment
of Technology Centre for Healthcare - see www.match.ac.uk) on the elicitation
of users' prior knowledge to help with the design of medical devices. The
successful candidate will be working under the supervision of Dr Jeremy Oakley
on the development of methodology for eliciting probability distributions, and
will help run workshops to elicit individuals’ beliefs. Candidates should have
(or expect soon to have) a PhD in Statistics or a related field. The post is
available from 1st November 2010 (although a later start date may be agreed if
appropriate) for two years.
